MODERN Transitional-Style WATERFRONT FARMHOUSE

This narrow waterfront lot in Rowayton, CT was a design challenge. After looking at the home that used to occupy this lot, the most obvious design decision was to face the garage doors toward the street. But this parcel also included the rights to a side area that had been visually severed from the property. This space allowed us to design a home that is attractive from both the curb and the water. The steep pitched slope challenged us to create a 6,000 s.f. home that did not tower disproportionately over the waterfront and mooring below.
